Robin Gibb created an incident in London when he refused to have his bag searched before boarding a flight to the USA.
The former Bee Gees star was randomly selected for an extra hand luggage search as he waited in London’s Gatwick Airport’s departure lounge for a flight to Las Vegas on Friday (21.11.08).Despite being told by staff he would be unable to board the plane without being searched, Robin refused to hand over his bag.
A source said: 'It was all very odd. No one could understand what his problem was. He was fairly calm and not ranting. He just seemed annoyed at being singled out.'
The 58-year-old singer, who was travelling alone, eventually agreed to be escorted back through security check points - but missed his £4,000 flight.
Robin was believed to have been returning to America because of a family bereavement, having cut short planned promotional appearances in the UK.
