Singer/songwriter Tommy Hubbard is already receiving requests for a modeling career even before his first music is released and might even make the glossy before a CD sleeve.
Hubbard has been living in Los Angeles working on his debut album with former Matchbox Twenty guitarist Adam Gaynor.Parallel to recording his new songs, Tommy earned some cash doing some part-time modeling jobs and now he keeps getting asked to do more.
While the requests and flattering and the work is welcome, the big picture for Tommy is to get the record out.
Some of the songs were uploaded to his MySpace last week.
Gaynor describes Hubbard as a “young Rob Thomas”. “Not since like 12 years ago, when I met a young man in Orlando Florida, playing me pieces of 3am and Push at some guys house, have I ever felt this way about an artist before,” Gaynor told Undercover.
Tommy also comes with good credentials. Queen’s Brian May and Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page have both endorsed his talent.
Back in 2003, he won the Riffathon in England. Page and May were the judges. “I got up on stage to play the song in front of Page and May and somehow won the whole damn thing. It was so surreal. Jimmy even signed and gave me one of his own guitars! I mean, your playing a Zeppelin song for the guy from Zeppelin. It was a crazy experience".
Hubbard and Gaynor have completed the first four songs.
‘Bring It Back’ and ‘I Really Wish’ can be heard at Tommy’s MySpace
