Just days after the release of Paul Mc Cartney's "Kisses On The Bottom" music streaming services Spotify, Rdio and Rhapsody have received take down notices for Paul Mc Cartney's music.
Apparently Universal Music Group/Concord ordered the take down on the evening of the 7th of February. Rhapsody have announced they are "shocked".
Its not the first time artists have refused to release their new albums through Rhapsody and other services, namely Coldplay and The Black Keys. However pulling an entire collection of works, as in the case of McCartney is highly unusual.
It might be something to do with an agreement with iTunes? The Beatles added their songs to iTunes in 2010, and interestingly it is rare to find anything by the boys from Liverpool on any other streaming service. Second to this iTunes have recently announced that they will be streaming Paul Mc Cartney Live From Capitol Studios for free. The event will mark the first time that performance of Kisses On The Bottom will be brought to life in a live setting.
