Yes, you read that title right. Stephen Colbert will this year bring you a musical Christmas special to appear on Comedy Central featuring an amazing line up of artists to help him out.
Colbert has roped in help from Elvis Costello, John Legend (but I assume you already knew that, if you read the title), Willie Nelson, Feist and Toby Keith. The general theme of the show is that Colbert is on his way to meet with Elvis Costello in New York City, but due to being snowed in has to sit it out with the rest of the all-star cast.
According to Pitchfork, “A Colbert Christmas” will be released on DVD and features a “book-burning yule log”, a video advent calendar and a bunch of alternate endings.
A portion of sales will also go to the charity Feeding America, who’s mission is to “feed America's hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage our country in the fight to end hunger.”
The show will premiere on Comedy Central on November 23, and be on DVD two days later. No word on any showings outside of the US, but where there is a will, there is a way.
