Bee Gees star Robin Gibb will speak at Popkomm, the music conference in Berlin in October.
Gibb is the President of the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers, as well as being one of Australia’s most successful songwriters as a member of the Bee Gees, with his brothers Barry and Maurice.Gibb will discuss the competition law decision which the European Commission issued in mid-July against 24 European collecting societies.
Robin became a Commander of the Order of the British Empire when he was awarded the CBE by Queen Elizabeth in 2002.
In 2004, he and brother Barry were awarded Honorary Degrees of Doctor of Music by the University of Manchester.
Earlier this year, he had a hit in Moscow when he sang backing vocal on a new version of the Bee Gees classic ‘Stayin Alive’ for Moscow singer Valeriya.
Gibb will open Popkomm with his keynote address on October 8.
