Joshua Goble, the son of Little River Band founder Graeham Goble, has won the NAB Songwriting Contest in the `16 and Over` category.
Joshua submitted his song ‘It’s Our Time’ as his entry."This is a great opportunity for songwriters to showcase their work and I'm very excited to be part of it," he said.
The NAB Songwriting contest was broken into three categories, Lyrics all ages, Under 16 and Over 16.
Joshua’s pedigree has served him well. His father Graeham is one of Australia’s most successful songwriters of all time. He wrote Little River Band`s `Reminiscing’. The song is one of the most played songs ever in the USA, registering more than 4 million spins at radio and earning Graeham the BMI Four Million-Air Award.
Joshua’s MySpace site gives you a further indication of his talents as a songwriter. ‘Now That You Know’ borrows from his dad’s harmony formula.
Judges for the NAB Songwriting Contest included Mushroom Publishing’s Ian James and Bill Page, APRA’s Sally Howland, Paul Anthony from Rumblefish and Andrew Hagger from the NAB.
