Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler, the other two from The Jam who these days are known as From The Jam, are heading back to the USA next month.
From The Jam will start their US tour in Foxboro, MA on September 23rd.Foxton and Buckler started touring as From The Jam last year to revive the songs no longer played by founding member and singer Paul Weller in his solo set.
While Weller does pay homage to his former band with some token tunes thrown into his set (he is doing A Town Called Malice, Eton Rifles and That’s Entertainment on his current tour), the Jam period is very much under utilised considering the heritage of the band.
From The Jam do a complete set of songs by The Jam and although Weller refers to them as a Jam covers band in interviews, they are the closest thing to The Jam live in the 21st century.
Weller prefers not to dwell on the past with his set, and that is admirable too, but outside of the UK, a Paul Weller setlist borders on the obscure.
