Convicted paedophile and former pop star Gary Glitter will be released from prison in Vietnam this month.
Glitter aka Paul Gadd was arrested in November 2005 and has served his 27-month sentence for molesting two underage girls.Authorities in Vietnam have confirmed that Glitter will be released from Thu Duc prison when his time has been served. He will be free to leave the country if he chooses.
Gary Glitter was one of the world`s biggest pop stars in the early 70s. His string of hits includes `Rock and Roll Pts 1 & 2`, `Hello Hello I`m Back Again`, `I Didn`t Know I Loved You Till I Saw Your Rock and Roll` and `I`m The Leader of the Gang`. Maybe the most unfortunate title he had a hit with was `Do You Want To Touch Me`.
Glitter has suggested that once he is released, he will return to the studio and record a new album. His last album was `On` in 2001.
He is now 64 years old.
