Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler is coming to play Australia for the first time in her career but fans beware, she is only playing Melbourne.
Tyler has had a string of Top 40 hits in Australia starting with 1977's 'Lost In France', and the number ones 'It's A Heartache' (1977) and 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' (1983).Bonnie also recorded 'Holding Out For A Hero' for the Footloose soundtrack.
Bonnie was born Gaynor Hopkins in Skewen, near Swansea, South Wales in 1951. She says that now she is glad she changed her surname but wishes she kept her Christian name. "I decided I would change my name for the stage. I put together a list of surnames and Christian names from a newspaper. I thought Bonnie Tyler sounded better than Hopkins. Now I like Gaynor and wish that I hadn't changed my name."
She will perform at The Palms at Crown in Melbourne on October 27 and 28.
