Elvis Costello fans in the know were treated to a free gig at the El Rey in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.
Costello had played earlier in the evening at the Hollywood Bowl as special guest of The Police, but then did his own secret show later in the evening.Singer/songwriter and actor Johnathan Rice was treated to a version of Happy Birthday by Costello. Rice played Roy Orbison in 'Walk The Line'.
Pete Thomas' daughter Tennessee Thomas also joined her father on stage at one time to play drums. She is the drummer for girl-band The Like. She also plays on four tracks for Costello's new album 'Momofuku'.
