The Drones have begun laying tracks for their as-yet-untitled fourth album in the sleepy Victorian town of Mytrleford.
The town is situated at the base of Mt. Buffalo and was highly populated during the gold rush of the 1860s, but by the 1870s it was abandoned by all but a few farmers... and now The Drones have moved in to disturb the cows and make lots of noise. The band have set themselves a pretty high bar to jump, with their last two records 'Gala Mill' and 'Wait Long By The River...' both achieving critical acclaim. 'Gala Mill' was nominated as a finalist in the Australian Music Prize, while 'Wait Long By The River...' took home the $25,000 prize.
The record is due out in September through ATP Records.
