Maestro Andre Rieu continues to dominate the Australia DVD chart. This week, the Dutch violinist has 16 titles in the Australian Top 40.
His number one DVD 'Gala Concert' would also be a top 10 album if its 5975 units counted towards the album chart.Rieu has 8 of the top 10, DVD's with only Celine Dion 'Live In Las Vegas' and Josh Groban 'Awake Live', taking up the non-Rieu positions of no. 5 and no. 7.
The Rieu dominance on the DVD stopped Guy Sebastian from having a Top 10 debut. Sebastian sold 862 units nationally of 'The Memphis Tour' to award him the no. 12 spot. It was the third biggest selling DVD of the week, when you take out the Rieu factor.
But the reality of Rieu is very real. In the top 40, he has the 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 19, 22, 24, 32 and 36 positions.
