Andre Rieu was officially one of the biggest touring acts in the world again in 2010,
Rieu ranked no. 16 for Billboard’s 2010 Top Tours chart placing him alongside pop and rock acts like Lady Gaga, AC/DC, the Eagles, Metallica and Paul McCartney.
Rieu and his 55-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra featuring Australian soprano Mirusia performed 86 shows to 444,996 fans between November 29, 2009 and November 20, 2010. It would have been more but 18 shows were cancelled this year due to illness.
The tour included four shows in South Africa, his first time in the country.
In 2009, Andre Rieu sold 835,000 tickets worldwide and ranked in 6th position.
Australia is one of his biggest markets where his recordings have been certified over 100 times platinum.
