Mudcrutch, the band Tom Petty had before he had The Heartbreakers, have performed their first show in more than 30 years.
The band hit the stage of The Troubadour on Friday night.For a bit of fun, Petty decided to form his old band and record the debut album that they never got around to recording all those years ago.
Mudcrutch featured Benmont Tench and Mike Campbell, who continued on with Petty as Heartbreakers. It also featured Tom Leadon, brother of Eagles' Bernie Leadon and Randall Marsh.
The band on the Mudcrutch album is that original band.
The show featured all the songs from the album plus a few choice covers of classics from the likes of The Stones and Jerry Lee Lewis.
