Madonna has applied to have her adoption hearing in Malawia delayed until May 15 because she has to attend to business in America.
As previously reported in Undercover, Madonna was due to appear in a Malawi court this week to argue her case for the adoption of Malawian orphan David Banda. However, the court hearing interferes with publicity plans for her new album 'Hard Candy'.
Madonna adopted David 18 months ago but the adoption was not court approved. Under Malawian law, foreigners are not allowed to adopt the local children unless they have lived in the small south African country for at least a year. Madonna was able to go above the law.
Madonna's reason for delaying the hearing is surely going to go against her in court. Putting the album before the child is most likely going to be used against her at the hearing.
Madonna's 'Hard Candy' album will be released next week.
