Foxy Brown is free but her release mirrors a publicity stunt gone wrong just one week ago in Australia.
Last week, media publicist Phil Tripp concocted a fake press release announcing that he was going to produce a reality TV show with soon to be released Australian music identity Glenn Wheatley. In his false press release, issued with his own company signature, Tripp claimed he would pick Wheatley up from jail when he is released in May and have him driven to his home in a stretch Hummer. He claimed that the whole thing would be filmed for a reality TV show.
Tripp's stunt turned sour and backfired on him after he jeopardised the innocent victim Glenn Wheatley's parole but maybe he should have still registered the idea because VH1 is doing it with Brown.
Foxy Brown was picked up from prison in a white Rolls Royce Phantom and driven to her home in Brooklyn.
VH1 was at the prison to film Brown's release. They will follow her with the cameras for the next few months and capture her time after prison for a reality TV show.
The rapper was released from prison on Friday after serving 8 months of a 12 month sentence for violating her parole.
Brown was on probation for attacking two women in a nail salon in 2004. In September 2007, she was put in jail after attacking a woman with a cell phone.
