Jeff Healey's musical colleagues will gather in Toronto in May to say goodbye to their bluesman mate.
Healey, who died last month, will be given a send-off by Deep Purple's Ian Gillan, BTO's Randy Bachman, Alannah Myles, Cream's Jack Bruce and David Wilcox, Alan Frew, Jerome Godboo, Colin James, Greg Godovitz, Chuck Jackson, Danny Marks, Matt Minglewood, Jimmy Bowskill and the Jeff Healey Jazz Wizards along with Healey's Blues Band.Money raised from the benefit will go to the Daisey's Eye Cancer Fund and the Healey Family Trust.
In a statement, Jeff's wife Cristie said, "This has been a great reminder for Jeff's family and close circle of friends of how many people were touched by Jeff and his music. I think we have assembled an incredible collection of talent and created two shows that Jeff would love. The shows will provide a great way for his friends and fans to pay tribute to his memory, and support a cause that was so very important to Jeff."
The shows will take place in Toronto on May 3 and 4.
Meanwhile, Healey's final album 'Mess of Blues' will be released in Canada next week.
