Canadian blues guitarist Jeff Healey is recovering in a Toronto hospital after surgery to remove cancerous tissue from his lungs.
The Canadian Press reports doctors as confirming the operation was a success.This is Healey's third cancer operation in the last 18 months. He also went under the knife to remove two sarcomas in his left leg.
As a child, he had retinoblastoma, a rare cancer that left him blind.
Healey is expected to return to his radio show on 91.1 Jazz FM Toronto and perform live again at his Toronto club Jeff Healey's Roadhouse as early as February.
