Legendary jazz singer Nancy Wilson has now confirmed that she will not be able to come to Australia for Melbourne Jazz 2008.
Wilson was hospitalized last week with a collapsed lung. Her immediate work was cancelled. That has now extended to next month's Australian visit."We were all looking forward to this trip and are very disappointed that we cannot be there, but obviously Nancy's health must take priority," her manager John Levy said on her behalf.
The scheduled event which was to feature Nancy will still go ahead with Yamandu Costa performing a single bill instead.
Melbourne Jazz Artistic Director, Albert Dadon said that "Yamandu Costa who was performing in the double bill with Nancy will still play at Hamer Hall. He is a formidable guitarist from Brazil who earned a reputation last year during our Festival. His talent is recognised worldwide. His concert is not to be missed."
Refunds for the show will be available at the point of purchase.
