Gibson is about to release a replica of the original guitar Slash had and took into the studio to record 'Appetite For Destruction' with.
Slash obtained two Les Paul's in 1988. "This is a replica of the original 1988 Les Paul I had before I beat the hell out of it," Slash said in a statement. "It's sort of a trip for me to see it because it looks actually like the guitar after I had it refinished in 1988. This is what it looked like when it was brand new".The original guitar also spent two years on the road with Guns 'n' Roses after the 'Appetite for Destruction' album was released.
The Slash signature guitar has the original Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish. It is made from carved maple top with a one-piece mahogany back and rosewood fingerboard.
The Slash inspired by Les Paul standard VOS has a recommended retail price of $5,880.
