Perth's Gyroscope have the number one album in the land. 'Breed Obsession', the band's third album, is the number one record in Australia.
'Breed Obsession' went into 6901 Aussie homes last week. 303 of the sales were digital downloads. Victoria had the biggest CD sales with 2367 selling in the Garden State compared to 1575 in New South Wales. The Gyroscope origins go back to 1997 when the first line-up of the band formed. This number one record comes 10 years after they recorded their first demo cassette.
The national attention first started in 2003 when the band signed to Festival Mushroom Records.
'Breed Obsession' was recorded in Liverpool, UK and mixed in London. The video for the single 'Snakeskin' was filmed in the middle of a 200 metre crop circle near historic Stonehenge. It spooked the sci-fi freaks who reported the sudden appearance of the circle as some sort of alien signal.
