Getting to watch Van Morrison perform in an Austin bar is something special. Van did not disappoint.
Morrison played the showcase to launch his new album 'Keep It Simple' and kept the set pretty much to tracks from the record. The title track from his previous album 'Magic Time' also got a run.Everything you expect from Van the Man he delivered. He plays the band like an orchestra, conducting each member to play their solo. In unison, this was a band who played as one.
Those who came along expecting "cranky old Van" got what they came for too. 'Baby Jesus of White Soul' someone yelled from the audience. Van's response 'Fuck off".
