Former Foreigner singer Lou Gramm has started a new band with his two brothers Richard and Ben.
The Grammatico brothers recruited Don Mancuso for drums and Andy Knoll for keyboards for what Lou describes as a stripped back act."This line up is stripped down and very lean," laughs Gramm, "but I like it this way. It's a classic rock and roll band without the excess instrumentation. This is a strong group and it is wonderful to finally be working with my brothers who have always been successful and acclaimed musicians in their own right."
Gramm left Foreigner in 1988 after the 'Inside Information' saying that the group was "unfulfilling".
He launched a successful solo career and scored a number of hits with 'Midnight Blue' and 'Just Between U & Me'.
He rejoined in 1992, recorded the 'Mr Moonlight' album with the band and toured the world.
In 1996, bad news came when Gramm found out that he had a tumor, which turned out to be non-cancerous.
It was at this stage that he became a born-again Christian.
He continued to work with Foreigner up until 2002.
Of his band of brothers, he says "This line up is stripped down and very lean," laughs Gramm, "but I like it this way. It's a classic rock and roll band without the excess instrumentation. This is a strong group and it is wonderful to finally be working with my brothers who have always been successful and acclaimed musicians in their own right."
The group plans to record an album soon. "I am at the point in my life where I can really enjoy the result of my many years of hard work," says Gramm. "I am having fun now for the first time in a long time, and I am eager to return to the studio after the current tour to start recording some new music for a couple of different album projects I have planned for the future."
The band is currently on tour in the USA.
