REM To Play Stubbs

REM will be playing a Barbie. The number one band from Athens, Georgia will perform at Stubbs BBQ in Austin on March 15 for SxSW.

Stubbs is one of SxSW's best venues. The outdoor venue of Red River St, Austin is a popular stop-over. Velvet Revolver, Angels & Airwaves and Flogging Molly will all be playing the venue in coming weeks.

Stubbs also housed Iggy & The Stooges at SxSW last year. Perry Farrell played his SxSW gig there, as did the double header of Billy Idol and The Donnas a few years back.

For REM, the gig is to showcase to the industry the 14th album 'Accelerate'.

The Jacknife Lee album was recorded in Vancouver, Athens and Dublin.

'Accelerate' will be released on April 1st.
