The next round of the Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp, a concept put together by David Fishof in 1997, will feature legends Brian Wilson, the founder of the Beach Boys and Pink Floyd's Nick Mason.
Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp brings music legends together with fans for first hand lessons about singing, songwriting, performing and the music biz in general. The 10th anniversary Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp will take place in Hollywood in February 2008.
As well as Wilson and Mason, the line-up of counsellors includes AC/DC's Cliff Williams, Bruce Kulick of Kiss, Deep Purple's Glenn Hughes, Elliott Easton from The Cars, Alan White from Yes, Mickey Dolenz from The Monkees and Simon Kirke from Bad Company.
Fishof held his first camp in Las Vegas a decade again with teachers Nils Lofgren and Joe Walsh. "After a great start in Las Vegas, we look forward to bringing the rock 'n' roll experience to campers in Hollywood to continue the 10th Anniversary celebration," he said."What we have accomplished in camp in the past 10 years is only the start.à Participants in Hollywood are going to realize that playing to a sold out crowd at the legendary House of Blues or jamming alongside Brian Wilson or Nick Mason is something that only Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp can deliver and I am proud to be able to give them this experience."
"This is such a big honor," added Brian Wilson, "To get to be here and hear all this great music."à
The event will take place from February 15 to 18 in Hollywood and culminate in an all-star jam between teachers and students at the House of Blues on Sunset Blvd.
Each camper is assigned to a band lead by one of the rock star counselors. For four days, they live like rock stars, writing an original song that will be played before a live audience at the House of Blues at the end of the camp.
The attendance is not only open to musicians. If you can't play an instrument, you can attend to learn the biz side of the music biz.
Registration is now open for the Hollywood leg of the 10th Anniversary camp at www.rockcamp.com or 1-888-762-BAND.
