Rick Dees is going back on the air.
The radio legend will be the morning hosted on the new Movin 93.9, launched today (August 17th) in Los Angeles by Emmis Communications.Movin 93.9's format is described as "Rhythmic Pop Contemporary". It will play artists such as Beyonce', Gwen Stefani, Usher, Jennifer Lopez, Black Eyed Peas, Madonna, Janet Jackson, and Gnarls Barkley.
"Emmis is the perfect fit," said Rick Dees. "I've been presented with many opportunities, and the new Movin 93.9 gets me excited like I've never been before! We will have an All-Star team ready to deliver a great morning show for Southern California."
Dees has been off the air in Los Angeles since the demise of The Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 in 2004.
30 Years ago in 1976, Dees had a massive hit with the novelty song 'Disco Duck'.
