Phil Spector looks certain to face the courts over the murder of Lana Clarkson in September 2008.
Spector went free for the murder of Clarkson after a jury deadlock brought the case to a close in September.Lana Clarkson died of a gunshot wound to the mouth in the Los Angeles mansion of the veteran record producer.
She had met Spector earlier that evening at the House of Blues where she was working as a waitress.
The mistrial was declared when the jury failed to agree on a verdict. Of the 12 jurors, 2 did not agree to a guilty verdict and Spector walked free.
Clarkson's mother and sister have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Spector.
Lawyers working on the new case say that they now have to review 35,000 pages of transcripts which is at least 7 months work.
