Simple Minds are heading to the big screen. The Scottish band will feature in the documentary 'Don't You Forget About Me'.
The movie is about the rise and fall of the teenage movie, made most famous by John Hughes in the 80s with flicks like The Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink and 16 Candles.Simple Minds 'Don't You Forget About Me' was recorded for the soundtrack of Pretty In Pink and was a top 10 hit globally in 1985.
"When we were asked to participate in the documentary, at first I was surprised the Breakfast Club movie had became such a cult since it was originally released 20 years ago," says Jim Kerr, lead vocalist with Simple Minds in a statement. "The song has become our biggest hit in America, and when we heard the rest of the original cast from the movie agreed to be interviewed for the documentary, we felt it was only fitting to participate."
Simple Minds part for the movie will be filmed at their T on the Fridge performance in Edinburgh on August 28th.
