Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler, The Jam you are having when you aren't having The Jam, have added more dates to their forthcoming UK tour.
The original Jam members minus singer Paul Weller will start a 24 date UK tour on November 21st. It is a reprise to the sold-out 20 date tour they undertook in May.The original dates were promo'd under the name 'From The Jam' as a reference to the guy's heritage.
"When we performed the Jam classics on the May 2007 tour, we couldn't believe how well the songs still hold together," says Bruce Foxton, the original bassist for the Jam. FTJ will perform all of the Jam's classics on the autumn tour including 'Down At The Tube Station At Midnight', 'Town Called Malice', 'Eton Rifles', 'Smithers Jones', 'Going Underground', 'That's Entertainment' and 'News of the World'.
The tour will start at the Ipswich Regent Theatre on Wednesday November 21st and includes already sold out shows at London's Forum in December.
The band will also now play Oxford Carling Academy on November 22nd.
The new four-piece line-up includes Bruce Foxton (bass, vocals), Rick Buckler (drums), Dave Moore (keyboards, guitar), and Russell Hastings who replaces Weller on lead vocals and guitar.
The Jam disbanded in 1982. Weller went on to form The Style Council before embarking on a successful solo career.
His attitude to a reunion for The Jam since the band broke up has been of the level of 'over my dead body'.
