Silverchair bass player Chris Joannou has donated the bass guitar he has played for the last 9 years to 'Nathan's Request', a charity set up to provide funds for research into youth suicide.
The guitar is Chris' Silver Sparkle G&N Bass which he has used in concert on many of the international tours. The guitar was also played on the recent 'Across The Great Divide' tour.Nathan's Request was started by the Rotary Club of Sydney. As part of the charities charter, it also raises awareness of mental health issues facing young people in the Australian community.
Chris has also donated a framed 'Across The Great Divide' tour poster signed by all members of the band.
At publication time, bidding for the guitar was at $4,400 and the poster was at $960.
The auction ends this Thursday (November 1).
