‘Concert For George’, the legendary tribute to George Harrison is about to be released on Blu-Ray.
‘Concert For George’ was held on November 29, 2002 at the Royal Albert Hall in London to honor the late Beatle lead guitarist on the first anniversary of his death.
The concert was organized by George’s wife Olivia and son Dhani and lead by Eric Clapton and Jeff Lynne.
It featured performances from the only surviving Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr as well as Tom Petty, Billy Preston, Sam Brown, Jools Holland and Gary Brooker.
A highlight was from Joe Brown, Sam’s dad and a Liverpool legend, doing ‘I’ll See You In My Dreams’ on ukulele and McCartney performing George’s ‘Something’ also on ukulele. The instrument was George’s favorite.
‘Concert For George’ on Blu-Ray will be released on May 20.
