Wu-Tang Clan have managed to clear the first ever legal Beatles sample for their new album.
There was previously news that the infamous rappers were to include an interpretation of the George Harrison-penned Beatles classic 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' on their forthcoming album '8 Diagrams'. It was to feature Harrison's son Dhani as well as Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante.But a missive on their site claims that they have cleared an actual sample, with thanks to "Danny (sic) Harrison and Erykah Badu" as well as "The Harrison Estate and the Beatles".
Due to the purported "magnitude" of clearing the sample and "history being made", Wu Tang have delayed the release date of '8 Diagrams' from November 13 to December 4.
