The first official announcement for the line-up of the Big Day Out 2008 features Rage Against the Machine, Bjork, Grinspoon, Arcade Fire, Hilltop Hoods, Billy Bragg, Paul Kelly, LCD Soundsystem, Sarah Blasko, Faker, Midnight Juggernauts, Dizzee Rascal, Something With Numbers, Battles and Cut Off Your Hands.
Rage Against The Machine had already been announced as headline act. Hotly rumoured Bjork has been confirmed after an earlier announcement that she is to play the Sydney Festival as well in January.Rage last played Big Day Out in 1996. Bjork was on the bill in 1994.
In other Big Day Out news, the new Melbourne venue is the Flemington Racecourse. The event was moved from the Melbourne Showgrounds for the last two years while renovations took place. The racecourse, adjoining the showgrounds, will offer an expanded area for fans.
Big Day Out tickets will go on sale in Sydney on October 10, Gold Coast on October 11 and Auckland, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth on October 12.
