As a follow up to last year’s hugely successful Rage Against The Machine for Christmas #1 campaign in the U.K., a new take on the idea has been suggested for 2010: John Cage’s ‘4:33’.
Those not familiar with the American avant garde composer’s work should note that Cage’s 1952 composition consists of four minutes and thirty three seconds of silence.

Last year thanks to a facebook fan page, Rage Against The Machine’s 1992 single ‘Killing In The Name’ was at the top of the U.K. charts over Christmas, toppling X-Factor’s long held domination of the charts at that time, making Joe McElderry the first X-Factor winner not to have the top spot on the week of release.
