Sir Paul McCartney, no stranger to writing songs for movies, is reported to be in discussions to write music for Shrek 4.
McCartney has a long list of movie credits to his name, most notably the theme song to the 1973 Bond movie 'Live and Let Die'. Cameron Crowe also commissioned McCartney for the title song to his film 'Vanilla Sky', after using the previously released 'Singalong Junk' in Jerry Maquire. The British press are reporting that McCartney has gotten into the Shrek movies via his 3 year old daughter Beatrice. "I'm a huge fan of Shrek" he told The Sun.
So far, the cast will include Mike Myers as Shrek, Antonio Banderas as Puss in Boots, Eddie Murphy as Donkey and Cameron Diaz as Princess Fiona.
McCartney has ample time to work on the songs. 'Shrek 4' is scheduled for release in 2010.
