John Lydon (Johnny Rotten), Steve Jones and Paul Cook have gone back to the studio together for the first time in 30 years to re-record their punk-rock classic 'Anarchy In The U.K.' for a computer game.
Sex Pistols, under the guidance of producer Chris Thomas have recorded the song for 'Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock'.John Lydon stated that "Re-recording them (the songs)-what a stress you put on us but we rose to the occasion I think...admirably," said John Lydon in a statement. He added that it is "a bit of anarchy in a video game is alright by me."
"It was great for Guitar Hero to, in a way, get us back in the studio. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but it actually turned out great and I think everyone held their own," said Steve Jones. "I like it (Guitar Hero) because my friends' kids like it. And I like what kids like."
The song was originally released on the one and only Sex Pistols studio album 'Never Mind The Bollocks', which is coming up for its 30th anniversary in October.
Sex Pistols will also mark the anniversary with a concert at Brixton Academy in London on November 8th.
'Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock' will contain more than 70 songs. Other acts to appear on the game include Velvet Revolver, Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello and Aerosmith.
