Lime Spiders are about to release their first album since 1990's 'Beethoven's First'.
'Live At The Esplanade' captured the band in concert at a reunion show in 1998. It will debut two brand new songs "Society Of Soul" and "The Dead Boys".Although the band broke up in 1990, they have reformed on occasions, firstly for the Black Crowes tour of Australia in 1992, as special guests to Tool at the Offshore Festival in '97, for MC5 in Sydney in '04 and an East Coast tour in January 07.
The band was formed in Sydney in 1979 by Mick Blood. Their first show was Christmas Eve 1979.
Lime Spiders quickly became stalwarts of Sydney's live circuit, performing shows alongside The Sunnyboys, Hoodoo Gurus and The Scientists.
In 1985, they made the big screen when their song 'Slave Girl' was used for the movie 'Young Einstein'.
