Hasidic Jewish hip-hop star Matisyahu will return with his first new album in three years in August.
‘Light’ was produced by David Kahne and features reggae legends Sly & Robbie, Stephen McGregor and members of Fishbone.The soul man from Crown Heights, Brooklyn mixes reggae with soul and ska with his messages of peace, hope and understanding on the new record.
‘Light’ is the third studio album from Matisyahu, following on from his 2004 debut ‘Shake of the Dust ... Rise’ and ‘Youth’ in 2006.
He also had the 2005 live album ‘Live at Stubb’s’.
Sony will release ‘Light’ on August 7.
