Clutch, Cornell, Kings And BMRC Go Solo

Spring means Summer festivals and tour announcements. And that means sideshows.

Chris Cornell of Soundgarden and Audioslave fame is kicking off the Linkin Park shows around Australia but diehards can catch full solo sets of his lung-bursting rock at Sydney's Enmore Theatre on October 24 and at Melbourne's Forum on October 25.

Cult blues rock warhorse Clutch are heading from Maryland, US to Meredith, Australia, appearing for the second time in this country in 2007. They've announced two solo shows, with the stages being warmed by their more traditional blues side project The Bakerton Group. Catch them at the Hi-Fi in Melbourne on December 13 or at Sydney's Metro on December 15.

And celebrating their inclusion on the mammoth New Year's Festival, grimy garage rock kings Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and curiously inventive hillbilly youngsters the Kings Of Leon are each doing sideshow dates.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club hit Melbourne's Hi-Fi on December 29, Sydney's Metro on January 2 and brisbane's Arena on January 3. Kings Of Leon ring in the New Year playing Brisbane's Convention Centre on January 2, Sydney's Hordern Pavilion on January 3 and Melbourne's Festival Hall on January 8 before returning to the Hordern on January 9.
