Britney Spears will open MTV's Video Music Awards with help from creepy cockrock illusionist Criss Angel.
Spears is slated to perform her new track 'Gimme More' to open the show, and the producer has revealed that she's taking advice on the performance from Criss Angel, the Dave-Navarro-meets-Dave-Copperfield illusionist of 'Mindfreak' fame.Rap prince Lil Wayne and Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls will host the pre-show event.
The confirmed guestlist for the VMAs reads like a rollcall of the biggest acts in music today: Alicia Keys, Maroon 5's Adam Levine, Mastodon and System of a Down's Serj Tankian, Josh Homme and Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens of the Stone Age, 50 Cent, Kanye West, Fall Out Boy, Foo Fighters, Rihanna, Common, Nelly Furtado, Gym Class Heroes, Akon and Soulja Boy, T-Pain, and Cee-Lo.
Presenters include Diddy, Sarah Silverman, Kid Rock, 'Superbad' stars Seth Rogen and Bill Hader, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, and Pamela Anderson.
MTVs 2007 Video Music Awards will take place in Las Vegas on Sunday September 9.
