In conjunction with Popkomm, the Innovation in Music and Entertainment Award finalists have been revealed.
The ceremony awards innovation in music and entertainment fields from all over the world and is judged by a panel of music industry experts, music industry journalists, investors and venture capitalists.The eight finalists are:
BMAT - A music recommendation system (Spain)
GD Worldwide's USync Backstage - An audience relationship management application (Australia)
Kazzong - A decentralised Web 2.0 music distribution system (Germany)
MOG.com - A music recommendation community (USA)
mSpot/Remix - A music streaming service on mobile terminals (such as mobile phones) (USA)
Playtime's MusicMakesFriends - A complex, multilingual music community platform. (Luxembourg)
Trivid's ClipGenerator - A do-it-yourself video creation application (Germany)
YouLicense - An international B2B music licensing platform (Israel)
The award will be presented by German rapper Sammy Deluxe at 6pm on September 19 in Berlin, Germany.
Popkomm Director Katja Bittner said in a press release, "We are delighted that Sammy Deluxe has agreed to act as a patrol to Popkomm-IMEA 2007. He continues the same high level set by previous patrons of Popkomm-IMEA artists who control their own business affairs, and whose contribution to the future of the industry is not confined to music alone. They exemplify innovation in the music industry, which is also represented by the finalists of Popkomm-IMEA, primarily on a technical level."
