Amy Winehouse's father-in-law has urged the public to stop buying her records as a means to help her and her husband in their battle with drug abuse.
Giles Fielder-Civil described the pair as being in "abject denial" about their collective problem during an interview on British radio. He continued, "Perhaps it's time to stop buying records ... because by doing that, it affects the record company and then the record company may take notice."
The comments come two weeks after a public interjection by Winehouse's mother-in-law, who revealed that the singer was battling addictions to heroin and cocaine.
All touring commitments are currently on hold as she "address[es] her health issues".
