Devo will digitally release "Don't Roof Rack Me, Bro! (Seamus Unleashed)" on August 25th. The song is apparently inspired by Mitt Romneys cruel treatment of his dog Seamus when he drove from Massachusetts to Ontario, with Seamus stuck in a kennel tied to the roof racks of the family station wagon. Poor Seamus.
In addition to the track, Devo founder Gerald V. Casale will commence the"Remember Seamus Campaign," with the impetus to "make 2012 the year where animals like Seamus are valued and honesty is praised."
The support does not stop there, Devo is also helping to back "Dogs Against Romney," a website dedicated to publicising Romneys cruelty to dogs. Casale will also design a special t-shirt for the the band members as well as contributing to the creation of a smartphone game, "The Crate Escape: Seamus Unleashed," which will be released on August 26th, National Dog Day.
