'Silver Skies' will be the fourth album from multi-award-winning country queen Sara Storer.
The long-awaited album is the next step following the breakthrough success of 2002's 'Beautiful Circle' and 2005's 'Firefly'. In fact, Storer has been a giant in Australia's authentic country music scene since her 2000 debut 'Chasing Buffalo', which scored three number one singles on the country charts and earned her the Best New Talent Award at the 2001 Country Music Awards. The proud recipient of a slew of Golden Guitars, Storer is contemporary Australian country's brightest female hope. The first single from 'Silver Skies' is 'Land Cries Out', an achingly beautiful rumination on the bitterness of being forced to leave the land you love - an all too common scenario during the recent drought.
With this heartfelt subject matter, Storer has branched away from traditional country sounds with the help of co-producer Matt Fell and Josh Cunningham of The Waifs. On 'Land Cries Out' Storer uses electric guitar and drums to complement the lament.
'Land Cries Out' will be available for digital download on September 15, with 'Silver Skies' getting an official release on November 3 through EMI.
