Rock 'n' roll legend Antoine "Fats" Domino has been presented with replicas of the 20 gold records he lost in the floods following Hurricane Katrina.
Domino was presented with the replicas at a ceremony attended by representatives of Capitol/EMI as well as the Recording Industry Association of America as well as New Orleans figures Irma Thomas, Jean Knight, Deacon John, Charmaine Neville and Eddie Bo.The performer isn't knows for his outgoing nature, and rarely appears in public. When accepting the awards, he kept his speech short; "There ain't too much I can say but thanks," he said, doffing his cap. "Thank you very much."
He hasn't moved back into his 9th ward house yet.
Domino's hits include jazz, blues and rock 'n' roll standards such as 'Blueberry Hill' and 'Shake, Rattle and Roll'
