One of the first recipients of induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Chuck Berry will be honoured with a series of panels, interviews, films and other programs culminating in a performance by his rock & rollness in October this year.
This will be the 17th chapter of The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame's American Music Masters Series, thereby, one does scratch their head as to why it has taken so long for 85 year old rock n roll trailblazer Chuck Berry to get a look in. It is not unusual for people to question the M.O of said organisation.
Chuck Berry was one of ten inaugural inductees including Elvis, Little Richard , James Brown, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, Sam Cooke, Fats Domino, The Everley Brothers, and Ray Charles back in 1986 when the whole thing kicked off.
The American Music Masters series, presented by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in conjunction with Case Western Reserve University, began in 1996 with a program honoring folk music legend Woody Guthrie and has since honoured the life and careers musicians such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Les Paul, Lead Belly,Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Fats Domino and Dave Bartholomew.
