Legendary new years event The Falls Festival has given fans a taster of what's to come in 2007-08.
In the festival's fifteenth year in Lorne and its fifth in Tasmania, they've announced headliners Kings of Leon. The now-Nashvilled-based brood visit on the back of their intriguing third album 'Because Of the Times'.Loved by clubber and rockers alike, UK duo Groove Armada bring their barnstorming big beat anthems to the main stage.
Singer, songwriter and icon Paul Kelly joins the festival, playing tracks from his new album 'Stolen Apples' as well as grabs from his catalogue of classic Australian fables. US garage rock heroes Black Rebel Motorcycle Club return with their turbo-charged and dirty psychedelic freak-outs. Friendly folkies The Waifs join the shows as part of their comeback for 'Sun Dirt Water' album.
Add US indie heroes Built To Spill, electro kid Gotye, acoustic Swede Jose Gonzalez, funktastic San Franciscans Blackalicious, explosive Brits The Go! Team, blues rockers The Mess Hall, tawdry US DJ Girl Talk, Aboriginal icon Kev Carmody, Kings Of Leon soundalikes Whiskey Go-Gos and UK ska pioneers Neville Staple's Specials and Falls already looks like your best bet to ring in 2008.
