Chicago's Alkaline Trio has signed a major label deal with Sony-BMG's Epic Records.
The band came out of the Illinois city in 1996 and released its first EP Sundials a year later. The new breed punk band sees the move to a major as a natural progession. "We are thrilled to be a part of the Epic family and to join a great musical lineage that has hugely influenced our lives over the years," lead singer Matt Skiba said. "Andy Gershon is someone we've grown to trust and admire, and who is truly an Alkaline Trio fan. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Epic."
This week, the band joined the Warped tour in their hometown of Chicago and will stay with the tour until August 7th in Indianapolis.
