A new cover album is coming soon, featuring Weezer, OK Go, Amy Lee, My Morning Jacket and more covering Muppet classics.
The twelve-track cover album, cheekily titled The Green Album, features rockers and folkies interpreting Muppet classics like ‘The Rainbow Connection’ and ‘(It Ain’t Easy ) Bein’ Green’.
Weezer are joined by Paramore’s Hayley Williams for ‘The Rainbow Connection’, OK Go play the show’s theme song, The Fray attack ‘Mahna Mahna’, My Morning Jacket take on ‘Moving Right Along’, and Amy Lee of Evanescence tries out ‘Halfway Down The Stairs’.
Good Charlotte’s Billy Martin and Atreyu’s Brandon Saller play ‘Night Life’, Andrew Bird croons ‘Bein’ Green’, and The Airborne Toxic Event attempt ‘Wishing Song’.
There’s also Alkaline Trio, Sondra Lerche, Matt Nathanson and Rachael Yamagata.
It will be released through Disney on August 23 as a warm-up for the new Muppets movie, which comes out on November 23.
