Family, friends and fans of singer Lynne Randell will gather on the shores of St Kilda Beach tomorrow (Saturday July 21st) to celebrate the life of the 60's pop star.
Lynne, best known the song 'Ciao Baby' died on June 8 after a battle with pills.During her career, Ms Randell lived in Los Angeles where she became known for her all-star parties. It was not unusual for superstars like George Harrison, Robert Plant or Elton John to attend
Lynne was a colourful character on the music scene. She toured the US with The Monkees, Jimi Hendrix and Ike and Tina Turner but the career did not progress into the 70s.
Her pill addiction caused brain and nerve damage and in later years she suffered from depression.
Close friend Serge Thomann is organizing the Lynne Randell "big celebration". He tells Undercover News that this is "not a wake, it is a celebration of her life".
The party for Lynne will start at 5pm on the beach next to Riva at the St Kilda Marina and be followed by drinks at Riva afterwards.
Fans are asked to bring white flowers only, and garden flowers as Lynne did not want any money spent.
If you would like to make a donation, she preferred that the money be sent to Support Act Ltd, a charity to assist musicians who have fallen on hard times.
